65 Years and Counting

Independence in India is 65 years old today. Not really a baby, but still growing and evolving and turning into something spectacular.

To all of my Indian readers, I value you and your input. You've helped me a lot in my journey learning about India and Indian life. I hope you know how much I appreciate you. To you and to all the Indian partners that are married to pardesi's who read my blog, I want to say

Happy Independence Day! Keep going strong and may this coming year be another amazing year in the advancement of democracy in India.

May women find new laws to protect them and enhance their freedom so they too can know what life free from oppression really is.

May the percent of malnourishment drop drastically and the crops abound.

May the farmers find peace and freedom from unbearably low wages.

May the widows in cities outside of Vrindivan find the same support that Vrindivans widows now have.

And finally, may the youth of India stand up and fight for a better tomorrow for all of India. Do your part, make a difference. You may not see it right away but one person can change the world. Will it be you?

Independence Day
