I'm Looking For a Wife - Update

So, it's been over 2 months since I started helping the family find a wife for BIL. Omg...it's not going well to say the least. They are extremely worried and are running out of places to look and from what I understand are even checking the newspaper now. Yikes! Those are like the worst candidates ever from what I understand.

Anyway, Shaadi.com is turning out to be a joke. There are barely any women available in Australia, even less who don't smoke or drink, and barely 2-3 that choose caste no bar. I think in the last 2 months I've expressed interest in 30 or so women, some of which I did just to test because they're not really suitable, and only 2 have expressed interest in BIL. Out of the 15 left to be responded to, only 3 ppl have even viewed his profile. The first I have no way of contacting unless I cough up the $83 for 3 months subscription. This is too high considering the offering.

One is obviously some kind of shady profile. It lists her as being an Australian citizen that was born and raised in Qatar. Of course, she currently lives there as well. So when exactly did she find time to pursue her citizenship in Australia since it mentioned she got her degree in India? Hmm....something sounds fishy. She's also deaf and has had a hearing implant. I think this girl has led a very interesting and busy life. Still, judging by her profile I would not have chosen her if everything else seems on the up and up. She looks a little too desperate and that in itself can spell trouble/skeletons in the closet.

Though I have continually changed settings to tell shaadi.com not to show profiles I've visited it continues to show these same two girls. One of them just screams 'I'm a party animal and if you don't drink and go to the clubs every night don't call me' and the other is way too old. Several girls also keep showing up that were/are married currently. It doesn't seem to matter how you set the search terms, there are so few girls available in Australia that they put these in to fill the empty space? (That's just my guess.)

I've checked out a few other avenues of finding suitable candidates but it would seem that (and I don't blame them) the decent women who are seeking husbands are just not online. I've also seen the newspaper and I'm starting to agree with them being the least viable candidates. No wonder BIL asked for our help!

For those of you for/against this who have commented on previous postings, I asked and BIL does not want a non-Indian wife. So that limits the pool lol. And thanks to Australias new regulations getting a girl from here isn't going to happen either. So many restrictions!!!

And now it's time to play pimp the BIL. Since I know Google ranks sites partially by how many links there are to them, here is BIL's profile. By all means, if you know a respectable Indian woman of marriageable age who is a permanent resident/citizen of Australia who doesn't party all the time and is finished with her education, pass that along. He cooks and cleans, has a stable job and is a no BS kind of guy. He also comes from a fabulous family that I (and this blog) can personally vouch for.

  2. Lol, I like to be funny...I figured that headline would get attention hahaha. He deserves a good wife and poor thing, now that I see the offerings, I can't blame him for asking for help. He's a home-body and not into the club scene but that seems like where all the women in Melbourne go.

  3. Try bharatmatrimony.com too. It's popular.

  4. Online sites are risky and difficult to vouch. People prefer to go through their community centre. If you had a community, you'd be getting weekly/monthly invitation letters detailing you about so-and-so girls/boys details from your city. You then have to approach the community and they'll pass your information to the other party and following mutual consent, a meeting is arranged.

  5. Thanks Broadway. The in-laws were working through a community and that's how they found the girls mentioned in my previous blogs. Those girls turned out to be crazy and in other relationships. It was like a scam too. But, I think maybe I'll do some more looking and see what I can find for them there. I appreciate the tip!

  7. Thank You! He comes from a really great family too. There are no horror stories in this family as other girls unfortunately face. I know MIL's are feared the world over but mine is fantastic. She's one of the sweetest women I know. I hope we can find a decent girl who appreciates her the same as I do.

  8. Hey WB, have you tried looking for British Indian women? Since Australia is a commonwealth of the UK it makes immigration quite easy and there are loads of Indians here (I'm dating one!). Also, Americans under 31 can qualify for a 2 yr visa to live down under, so maybe an ABCD woman for your BIL?

  11. Well, he needs a level headed, strong, independent but not bitchy woman lol. Preferably a girl with a good intellect and doesn't mind quiet evenings at home. Hobbies and such are not a big issue no matter what she likes, he'll be fine with that. He's into sports and if she is too then that's a bonus. I think that's all I know so far but as they talk I'm sure more things may come up.
