The Love Grows

By mid May I could tell something was bothering him and he kept telling me that he was going to send me an email and tell me something and then maybe we wouldn’t talk anymore. I was scared to get that email even though I suspected he would be telling me who he really was. I didn’t want to lose him, my feelings for him were so strong by this point in time. The email never came, and after two weeks I managed to get him to tell me what he had to say. He told me that he wasn’t American. I laughed a little and told him I knew that and reminded him I sent him all that information in April. Well, I guess he went to his email because then he started pasting some of the email in the instant message box and we both talked about it and had some laughs. He was rather surprised at what I had found and that I had known for so long and I was still talking to him. That night he gave me his cell phone number and told me the number on the application was his home phone number.

I called him on that phone number and after saying “Hello” he hung up on me. We were still logged into yahoo so I asked him why he did that and he said he panicked. However I called again and after about 20 seconds of conversation he hung up on me again. This time I just laughed. He told me he was afraid I wouldn’t like his voice and that he had never really spoke English and didn’t know what to say to me. So I didn’t push and I waited for him to be ready. I started sending text messages to the cell number multiple times a day. My phone number was unable to receive messages from his provider though and so we both contacted our providers to try to figure out why.

Over the next month I started calling him more and more and our conversations got longer and longer. We still did most of our chatting over yahoo as international calling was too costly. I started looking for ways we could talk to each other for less money. I started using skype first. The cost was less than 1/3rd the cost of dialing straight from my cell phone and the clarity was really good. However yahoo was still free so we spent most of our time there.
